14 years old and thanks to all the great compliments. You all picked up on the best part of this hunt, the fact that it was a family affair.  I couldn't have asked for a better day, to have everyone there that was there is truly a blessing.  Some day when my dad does pass on, this will be the first thing I think about and hopefully it will still bring a smile to my face.  Thanks dad, I love you!!

Talk about some special memories in the field, I think you hit that one out of the park.  The buck is a dandy buck as well.

Awesome buck!  Having it mounted?  I love the picture of both your daughter and her grandfather in the picture.  You should take that to Walmart and have a coffee mug made for your Dad!  Or even a t-shirt.   I've only had that happen once in my life also, shooting two deer from the same bunch.  In Twisp my son and I were hunting together, he with a youth tag (back then it was any buck).  We had just finished looking for blood on a 2 point he missed and found the spot to sit when a group of deer showed up.  I was going to give him first dibs until I confirmed it had at least 3 points.  I shot and hit the deer in the shoulder and watched him make his final steps into the woods and turned to the other deer.  Another buck and with 3 points also.  Gave the sticks to my son and as the deer stopped right where I had shot mine he hit it and it went down.  If mine had gone right down they probably would have falled within 10 feet of each other.  It was an awesome day.  One was a 3X3 the other a 2X4.  There is alot more to the story but that's it in a nutshell.

We decided to have it mounted, in fact I ended up with a 4x4 on the last day of late buck so now we have 2 deer to mount.  Your hunt with your son sounds like a great memory as well and that is a good idea with what to do with the picture. Thanks.

Nice job on all 3 deer especially with the hole family. Family and friends are what it is all about.

Congrats on a great first buck for your daughter and on getting your Pops out as well, sounds like it was a great day all around.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Until I read the post the first pic I looked at I thought it was a mule deer. Nice buck, I got goosebumps! I can't wait for my daughters to be able to hunt. That is way bigger than any blacktail I've ever seen! I couldn't think of a better person to shoot it! Congrats!
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.
