IMHO this situation is no more of a hunt than me walking up to my cat and shooting it in the back of the head.  LOL

It's  kind of funny to me that people seek validation or emotional support from complete strangers on the internet.  One good thing about the internet, it seems great for catching poachers though.

Have you actually gone out there and checked the situation out first hand?    Would be interesting to see how he really reacts to people.   

Your post said kids feed him apples, are they actually getting him to take them from their hand or do they just put them out for him and he comes around to eat while they are near by?   How close does he really come to them?

If he is actually taking them from kid's hands, I would say there is a real potential for injury at some point to one of the kids.   No matter how tame he seems, he is still a true wild animal, and cannot be considered in the same way you would a domestic animal.  If something were to suddenly startle him, a kid could get hooked by one of the horns, kicked, etc.

I would say, go look the situation over in person, then make a decision on what you see, and follow through with it.   As you can see, there are as many different opinions as there are people on here, so this could carry on for weeks with no real changes.   

If you are still struggling with shooting it yourself, the best thing I have seen on here is to find a disabled hunter, maybe a wheelchair bound one with mobility limits, and help him or her have the chance to take him.    I would bet that in the end you would feel much better about the situation and I know the hunter would be very grateful for the opportunity.

So....you gonna videotape it like Troy Gentry did when he "hunted" a tame bear?  I seem to remember that most members were in an uproar over that incident.  Pretty lame if you kill it and I'm surprised how many people advocate killing this deer KNOWING that it's pretty tame.  Hell, just walk up to it with an apple in one hand and a knife in the other and slice his throat.  He'll look good on hanging on your wall and you can tell all your buddies about your great accomplishment.  You guys call this hunting?

That buck is no different than a buck in the hills, he has just adapted to his environment so you have to adapt your hunting also. If you dont take him then maybe a car will, then he'll be waisted. I hunt on an island in the puget sound that is crawling with deer and because there are no predators there they can relax and lay out in yards and walk down the streets. Plus those island deer eat realy good.

Here is a pic of a buck that the land owners said no to hunting, but if I found him on a piece of property that I did have permission to hunt then I would have not problem giving him a dirt nap.
