I don't know about outdoor central but if you think about anything which has a history of going wrong like this is turning out to be you would think that they would test the system in more ways than 10 before rolling it out. It's kind of like engineering something like an airplane. You don't just produce a plane for your customers and then expect them to fly it without you ever testing the product. What do I know though. Oh yeah and all of this is back door news. That's why they post it on the front page of their website. Everything seems unprofessional to me and I think it's time Outdoor Central goes packin'.

I agree and beyond the last few years, if I remember correctly, Great Lodge was in charge. Great Lodge is the parent company of Outdoor Central. From the frying pan into the fire.

I posted this last year and will do it again.

Go to Great Lodge http://www.greatlodge.com/cgi-bin/gl/outdoor.cgi
Hover your mouse over the states listed on the left. Look in the bottom left corner of your browser to see where the link will take you.
Most will take you to a Great Lodge page, one takes you to an Outdoor Central site and one, ( :dunno:) will take you to WDFW page.
The Outdoor Central logo at the top of the page is the same logo (Buffalo) that Great Lodge was using in the past.

Looks to me like Great Lodge had problems, tried to clean up and operate under Outdoor Central (and continues to have problems).

I believe if people collectively want a change then they are going to have to convince WDFW to take action.

I think if the BI--- Gov. can have a redraw(re-vote) till she won, then I want a redraw until I'm drawn!  Think they'll buy it- ha ha .

So i have a question.  If you get drawn for this mutiple season permit......what all does it entail.  An extra tag, can you get 2 deer?  Anyone have any info or experience with this?  Thanks!

Multiple-Season Hunting Permits & Tags

Q. What is the multiple-season hunting permit?

A. The multiple-season hunting permit allows a hunter to hunt with all three weapon types, archery, muzzleloader, and modern-firearm during the general hunting seasons for deer and/or elk.

Q: What are the rules for multiple-season permit holders?

A: Multiple season permit holders must abide by all general season rules for the hunt in progress. The permit holder must also follow all the general season rules for archery during the general archery seasons, muzzleloader during the general muzzleloader seasons, and modern firearm during the modern firearm general seasons.

(For example, if hunting during the archery deer season in GMU 242 Alta, a hunter must use archery equipment; they can harvest a three point minimum mule deer buck from Sept. 1-15 or 3-point minimum buck or antlerless mule deer from Sept. 16-30; and they must follow all archery, general season deer, and all other hunting regulations).

Q. What is the bag limit?

A. The bag limit is one deer or one elk.

Q. Do I need to purchase a hunting license and tags before I can enter the drawing?

A. You do not need to purchase a deer or elk hunting license and tag to enter the multiple-season permit drawing.

Q. Where can I purchase the multiple-season hunting permit applications and when is the deadline?

A. You can purchase special permit applications over the counter at any hunting and fishing license dealer, or by calling toll-free 1-866-246-9453, or by using the internet at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/ . The deadline to purchase the applications is March 31, 2008.

Q. How much does the application cost?

The cost of the multiple-season hunting permit application is $5.48 for residents, $3.29 for youth, and $54.75 for non-residents.

Q. How much does the permit cost?

A. The permit is $164.25 for residents and $1,642.50 for non-residents, plus the cost of the original deer or elk license.

Q. How many multiple-season permits are going to be drawn?

A. 1,500 deer permits and 500 elk permits will be drawn. Permits will be randomly drawn by computer selection.

Q. When and how will I be notified of the drawing results?

A. We anticipate notifications will be mailed out by mid-April.

Q. How many applications may I purchase?

A. You may purchase one application for deer and one application for elk.

Q. How do I enter the drawing after I purchase the application?

A. Your application is automatically entered into the drawing (there are no hunt choice numbers to submit).

Q. How does the multiple-season permit affect the deer and elk special permits?

A. If you draw a multiple season permit for deer or elk, then you may apply for all weapon types on your deer or elk special permit application (up to four hunt choices). You would also be able to apply for both eastern and western Washington for elk.

Q. Do I earn points for the multiple-season permit application if I do not draw a permit?

A. An applicant will retain a point each time he/she does not draw a permit.

Q. What if I am drawn, but decide not to purchase the permit?

A. Successful applicants must purchase the permit within 15 days of the drawing notification date. If they have not purchased the multiple-season permit by the deadline, the next person drawn will be offered the permit. The multiple-season permit is non-refundable and non-transferable

Okay call me dumb here?  I dont understand what the advantage is if you get drawn.  I am a regular deer hunter modern firearm (rifle) hunter and i was selected for the muliti season thing.   I hunt with rifle only????  So this really is no advantage to me???

My suggestion to you is if you only hunt rifle then don't purchase the tag. You will save some money.

Seems to me this would be a good time for you to purchase either a bow or a muzzleloader and start practicing before the season starts.

But yes, you are correct in that there is no advantage if you only hunt the rifle season. The multi-season elk permit has another advantage...you can hunt both eastside and westside seasons.

Well i entered the drawing for 2 reasons....1. it was only 5 bucks.  2.  Multi to me stands for more than one.  So Multi season would mean more than one season.  It should be called Multi weapon permit.  No biggie i am only out $5.  I'll wait and see how the special hunt permits come out.  Thanks for the help!

Wilywin, if you win the tag it will cost you another $164.25.

"The permit is $164.25 for residents and $1,642.50 for non-residents, plus the cost of the original deer or elk license."
