multi-season tags

If it allows you to hunt with all 3 weapon types then why isnt it called Multiple weapons permit? 

It is called multi season because you can hunt Modern season, Archery season and ML season.
Why not call it multi weapon? Because you could hunt all those seasons with one weapon if you use the right one.

    What I love is folks that put in for tags just because they exist.  Some folks really want that tag, have the weapons for it and are looking forward to it.  Inevitably folks put in for it jsut because, such as the Spring Bear hunt, then they get drawnand come on here and ask where to hunt because they don't have a clue.  I guess I'm the frustrated *censored* in the corner waiting for the tag and have tried for years to get it.  To each is own, but if ytou are willing or wanting to shoot a spike elk, or don't think you 'll actually know or hunt an area, please don't put in for it.  These tags are coveted.  Please don't put in for them if you have no interest in them.  If you don't buy them, yep they become available, such as the one I finally got drawn for last year, a week after the season had already been started.

one that sticks to mind is the guy who got a branch antler bull permit AND a slide ridge permit the same year.  He shot a spike opening day of the brnach because all he wanted was meat, and then didn't hunt Slide ridge because he went in August and scouted it and thought it looked too dry.

Wilywin, if you win the tag it will cost you another $164.25.

"The permit is $164.25 for residents and $1,642.50 for non-residents, plus the cost of the original deer or elk license."
 

I think he knows what it costs. He is just saying he's only out $5 because he doesn't want the multi-season permit now that he knows what it is.

Well said Bone, that is why I hope they will reduce the number of choices someone can make, or make it so the last choice has to be an antlerless choice.  I didn't put in for multiseason this year becuase I knew I wouldnt get my money out of it, I'd rather spend the $165 on other tags or raffle opportunities.

Lets not start on those doe tags now, a guy I hunted with once or twice draws one on a regular basis but isn't good at filling them(and he tries believe me).  Notice I said "hunted with", if a guy can't fill a doe tag in the NE corner of the state then thats a bad hunter.

Has anyone been notified yet? I drew according to the back door method on the WDFW site.
 I have the perfect use for the multi- tag. I'll take my 2 kids out modern then I can have archery and muzzle to myself

I agree with Bone!  I'm tired of folks putting in for tags just to put in for them.  I know dudes who put in for sheep, moose and goat who have never seen one or have no idea where or how to hunt for them if they were drawn.  One guy told me that when he draws, he will just hire a guide to take him to the animal.  It is frustrating for those of us that would give our right bag to draw one of those tags to see yayhoos who really have no business applying for them.

I was fortunate enough to draw an elk multi season permit.  Haven't been notified yet but was able to confirm on the WDFW site 2008 Multi season draw results!

I think WDFW should charge up front for the multi-season tags.  I think that would cut out a lot of the people that put in "cuz it's only $5".  Like bone said they have no idea what they're even putting in for or they don't know that the tag costs $164.25 once they're drawn so they decide not to purchase it.  In the mean time some guy that knew what it was, had the money and and wanted to draw, doesn't.  Then by the time the second or third draw comes around and he gets picked, he's already made plans for somewhere else.  I don't even put in for these tags (I'm rifle hunter and I understand that this tag doesn't help me) but this stuff still bugs me.

I called Olympia and confirmed I had the Elk Tag. I'm not buying it until they inform me of my AHE status and I can see the 08 regs. I hope I have time for that.
