Permit packets.
« on: April 04, 2008, 04:50:08 PM »
I was hoping that this year they would send a little more info or at least a map. But no, just the same letter and permit just like last year. :bash:

Yep... Guess I'll just have to go off the Maps at the gates I grab on the way in.

Rick, yes, you will need to go to the Rayonier office in Aberdeen to pick up a map and an access permit. Even though I hunted it a bit last year, I am still not sure where to start.

I received my north Skagit packed and it was accompanied by a map, with the problem areas identified, kinda helpful.  Dont get keys tell the 14th thou, pretty hard to scout with only one day to do it.  Good luck to all.

Lucky you.
The Copalis unit doesn't have any real damage areas so we are on our own.

Hopefully the snow starts melting for you bearhunter!  Was up that way last week and there is still quite a bit of snow, not totally certain where the area lies, but with the snow,  should concentrate the bears down low.  Keep us posted and good luck!

Yea, I saw the first one on the news the other night. It was a young one wandering around a neighborhood.

Same old map huh? Bummer. I have not seen anything yet, but I expect them to be moving. The weather has been moderate and we have had rain for the last few days.
They just had a large ORV event up there with a few hundred riders.

Now what really t's me off is I found out today that we have to pay $25 bucks to access Rayonier this year. Might just be the straw that broke the camels back. I know that is not alot of money, but there is no damage, most of the gates are (and if like last year, will be) locked.

Love the Hi-tech 2008 Bear Tags included in the "So Called" packets.  If I loose mine,  I could just bust out the lap top and print me up another.  I almost through the little green paper into the fire place until I read it at the last minute.

Glad our tag money is being invested in modern technology.   :dunno:
