509, That is a really nice looking dog. I don't hear about those very much.


Reputable breeders will not sell a German Longhair unless you are a bird hunter.  They prefer that you run the dogs through trials. 

There is a Longhair breeder in Yakima.  This is my second longhair and I needed a dog in a hurry, so mine came from Michigan via Northwest Airlines.  Nice dogs, live to hunt for the OWNER only.  They are a one person dog.  They can have seperation anxiety that rivals that of rat dogs. 

Great pointers.  Good retrievers.  Excellent duck dogs.  Carry a generator and electric clippers in the field!!  That is a real downside.

They really need to hunt and run.  They are not apartment dogs.

This is Ruby a red setter with my husband Larry and grandson.  We try to take our grandson once a year on a warm day and stay out of the woods.  This was a great day with 3 birds in the bag and easy walking for a 4 year old.



I think this one I may put on a mug for a Christmas Present.

Good for you Steen getting the grand kids out into he field. My grand kids are too small yet but their time is coming. Best photo of the bunch, but then it's all about kids for me.

Dharma vom Okanogan-Flusstal taken today.  Three coveys of chukar, two quail coveys, and two coveys of huns for 7 finds today.




Addy today 11/21:  tough dog....I would hate to have a cactus on my forehead.

Okanogan, awesome place to hunt, but I never leave home without my Gerber for the cactus. Great looking dog, not sure I like the idea of having cactus that close to the eyes  :bdid:, but the birds gotta be retrieved  ;).

Good looking dogs

What kind of dog is that?  My fiance and I are trying to figure out what we are going to buy... My 840sqft house really doesn't do well for something as large as a lab :(

This is Rocky.  Really a waterdog, but he'll do in a pinch... ;)
