Thanksgiving Fishing In Mexico
« on: November 30, 2010, 07:37:07 PM »
I had the privilege of meeting up with my family in Cabo San Lucas over my thanksgiving break. Recently it has been a tradition to charter a boat on thanksgiving day in hopes of catching something for our family's untraditional thanksgiving meal so we don't have to order the "thanksgiving special" that night at dinner. We started off the day heading about 6 miles offshore and found some birds working the area as well as a school of porpoise which usually means the yellowfin are in the area. We switched over the baits to cedar plugs and immediately the reals started buzzin  :IBCOOL: After a couple of hours we had a total of 15 tuna on the boat (between my dad, 2 cousins, and my uncle). We decided that we had enough fish to feed us for the night as well as fill a couple coolers to take back to the states and headed a few miles up the coast in search of Marlin. We ended up casting baits at the only marlin spotted but no luck this time. Here is my biggest yellowfin of the day which took place of the turkey that night. Not my biggest to date but it got me bragging rights for the trip  :)
