Ok who ate their special permit tags this year??
« on: December 18, 2010, 01:18:39 PM »
I ate my toutle quality bull tag, I could have taken a bull, was looking for a trophy, passed on a few in early season and missed a decent one in late season.

Anyone else??

I ate a 2nd deer tag for a whitetail doe down in the Pomeroy area. I actually just ate some of my deer from my quality permit.

I haven't had a chance to hunt my permit season yet but just to be on the safe side, I am in the process of gathering all the ingredients for my world class Tag Soup. I am so versed in making it that it seems like an almost every year thing. It tastes like *censored* but I have really come to like it. 2 more weeks and we will see if I am eating backstraps or soup. :dunno:

Upper Smith Creek Cow tag Mod Firearm. I bit the bullet by choice, since I had no desire to pack one out 5 miles strait up hill. I only got to hunt the last two days of the season, and the heard was at the bottom of the unit by then. If you know the area, you know how steep it is!

I ate my late Nevada longbow rut permit.  My choice, but it was a little bitter.

My bowl is full with the muzzy cow tag in manastash, muzzy doe tag for the NE corner, and the muzzy quality buck tag for the private lands in the Kahoultus area.  Add some newly logged off areas, increased private lands occupation, poor scouting and not enough crab chum to the hot weather during the hunts and you have one very sour tasting tag soup. Then add to that some first time ever draws and dissapearing points and the soup takes on an even more discusting smell. A side order of late muzzy hunt in 407 that is so depleted only the towns are full and there is enough soup to fill the freezer.

Didn't fill my second deer tag in West Klickitat. I did have a doe in the cross hairs but decided it was too easy, or too small, or something (within 10 yards of the road). I'm trying to decide which marinade to use on my tags this year. They need to soak overnight so they aren't too chewy.
