shed hunting reserve
« on: December 18, 2010, 07:53:08 PM »
I was wondering if it is legal to take sheds from a reserve?  the reserve is open to hiking and fishing but no dogs or guns aloud.   And when do deer shed typically in washington?

I don't know why it wouldn't be legal but wouldn't be surprised if it was.

Typically on the west side they start dropping in February

There shouldn't be any reason you couldn't, unless your maybe trying to sell them

If people can hike/fish/etc through the area, you're usually good... sounds like they just don't want anyone harassing the wildlife
Theres plenty of room for all of gods animals.... right next to the mashed potatoes!

Not selling them just know there are big bucks in the area so though maybe a good place to look.

:yeah: I waited untill late april last year to go to one of my favorite reserves (after the animals were on there way out) only to find four wheeler tracks every where and no sheds >:( :bash: It depends on where your going, there are some areas you can't enter untill may and some declared reserves. I did some research last year and found a couple of reserves you can enter as long as you don't harass the wintering animals, but thats a grey area, so i try to wait untill the snow is gone and the herd is disspursed. Looks like I waited to long last year :bash: Just make sure and understand the laws in the area where you want to go.

IT ILLEGAL TO SELL SHEDS?    I NEVER FOUND SHEDS BEFORE OR LOOKED FOR ANY,  SO  I DIDN'T BREAK ANY LAWS.   (JUST A DISCLAIMER)   :chuckle:
