SW Wash. Backyard Blacktails
« on: January 22, 2011, 06:27:44 PM »
I got a trail cam for Christmas. These are the second set of pics that I have got since Christmas. We only have 6 acres, but our property borders a 100 acre blueberry farm, several Christmas tree farms and lots of woods. At the same time we are only 3 miles from I-5. I see more deer driving down our driveway than I do hunting all over St. Helens. I may have to buy an archery tag and hunt out of the kids play fort next year.

Nothing wrong with hunting in the backyard.  They taste just as good and the gas expenses are a lot less.  I need to build a pumphouse for water treatment equipment and am thinking of making it big enough to have a skinning/butcher area and building a blind on the roof.   :chuckle:

Those are nice, tasty bucks.
We have about 9 acres with Scatter creek at the back.  Our neighbors have several acres too.  Some don't like hunting or trapping, some do.  Your neighbors probably do like hunters and trappers.  I would ask them.  They might tell you of trails where the deer rub antlers, etc. and where you can set up your camera in addition to on your own land.
There are now just a doe and her two fawns that are usually here and are safe.  Her buck only comes to our place when I'm elk hunting or at night during the summer.  I've seen them on my trail cameras.  I haven't figured out how to put my TC pics here.
