Already put this in another thread, but guess it needs done on its own so it is up front where it will get noticed
I got a call this morning from a legislative aid to Representative Ross - Naches. It was in responce to my email asking for something to be done to stop Goldmark from allowing tribes to go behind locked gates on DNR land.
He said that legislation has been introduced that will stop this. He said that what Goldmark was doing would go beyond DNR lands and would extend to all state owned properties.
It is HB 1273. The hearing is this Tuesday - 10 am in hearing room C in the John O'Brien Building in Olympia. As most of us work and stand zero chance of being at the hearing the aid ask that I distribute this. He was very upfront that the noise that was made is what got the HB drafted and that we need to let our legislators know that we want this passed. As soon as I hit post I will be sending an email supporting this legislation.
The other thing this does is set precedence that future Tribal issues could hinge on. This has to pass.
