I took a 14 y/o kid deer hunting this year and we were incredibly fortunate. We ended up taking a couple respectable bucks, which was awesome for us.

Anyway, some guys helped us off the mountain (you meet great folks hunting) and then they showed us this method of skinning.

It was incredible.  So CLEAN and so FAST.    I couldn't believe it.   I can't wait to use this method again some time.

You can use a rock as well. There is a few guys that use it on here. I have yet to try it, I have always wanted to. But I guess I am a traditional type of guy

I read one guys reply that said that pulling the hide off makes the hide hard or tough. Any truth to that?

Rock works just as well.  Works well unless you rip the head off in the process.  Yup, the head came of my first deer about 15 years ago.  I have a video of if somewhere.

Looked like the deer in the video was neck shot. Quick and easy if it all works out!
