Sounds to me like a frickin cluster you know what
A boat ramp on derby day

I have a called in and killed a cougar in Jefferson county , they just don;t pop up in a clearcut and say shoot me.

Get back in the thicker stuff, find some lanes,  call and protect your back.
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

This.  Was in my yard again last night.  I saw the tail slip into the woods when I went out for a smoke.  I go outside with my .45 everytime now.

From what i understand it would be very odd for a cat to be in this area for so long even with a plentiful food supply

Not necessarily odd, but maybe it is not even a cougar? Maybe a big house cat?

There is plenty of food around.  At last count, Timberlakes CC held a herd of deer more than 50 strong.  This didn't even count the deer that lived in the timberland north of here, where the cougar has been frequenting.

And I have seen it.  It's not huge, I guess, having no other reference, but it is not a house cat or a dog.

I doubt it's a tom.  Most likely feeding the litter.  Especially if as it sounds to be a smaller cat from this thread.  She has to hang around.

A cat "relocator" I know said the tom's are always looking to make a litter and they can't do that hanging around.

Well, seems as though it is all over.  Got word last night that the Sheriff is bringing out 2 relocation traps today.
