Maybe a cat with one claw that can scratch in a straight line.  :dunno: I guess we need to see the other side of the deer for scars.

I have seen a few deer killed with "burn" marks and scars just like this from bullets. Depending on the angle of the shot and the positioning of the deer, a straight burn can look curved.

If there are not scars on the other side, you can bet there is a bummed rifle hunter out there.
