Bow help?
« on: March 15, 2011, 12:35:20 PM »
I was wondering if anyone can give me info on this. I have this old bow. It is a PSE Phaser and I have had it for about 16 years and have never shot it. I got it used at the time so it is older. Basically is this worth anything in terms of trade or sell for either a gun or a newer bow? I don't know the draw length or weight either. Only thing I know is it is 39 3/4 inches center to center of cams.  Also is it worth it to restring and practice with it to learn before I decide I want to persue bow hunting.

Thanks Tony

Probably not worth much for trade in or resale.  $100 or so tops I would guess.  What about using it for bowfishing?

Sadly because of the leaps and bounds that have been made in bow technology older bows do not hold much value.
Even a 5 year old bow can be hard to sell.
Your bow may be worth $20-$50 to the right buyer :twocents:

For resale or trade really not worth anything, that is a pretty outdated bow, but could be fun just to fling arrows in the backyard or great for using it on carp in the canals.
Looks like it may have a really high draw weight, some grown men might not be able to draw it... :chuckle:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Maybe put it up on your garage wall or use it to bring someone new into archery.

Yeah thats what I thought.  I knew it wouldn't be much.
That would be a kick in the pants to go bow fishing though.

HAHAHAHA!!  That was to funny to watch. Do you remember the approx draw weight? I have no clue. I might just keep it like you said and restring it and use it in the back yard and learn with this one before I buy a decent one. Where are these canals you speak of?
