Sorry guys, Skyval is right. Deer dont shed where there is snow. Too cold on their feet. Everyone take note. Shed lesson number #1- dont shed hunt in units that have snow.

  I did head up the Chiwawa River road(clarification)around the 20th of Nov to waist deep snow and there were still a few tracks around but those were heading down. But heck it could have melted and they went back up or was I just dreaming this?

I did head up the Chiwawa River road(clarification)around the 20th of Nov to waist deep snow and there were still a few tracks around but those were heading down. But heck it could have melted and they went back up or was I just dreaming this?

Probably best if everyone thinks that the snow was waist deep in the hills and all the deer were at Walmart Wintering until last week.    Shed rule #2- No horns above 1000 feet.

It must be hard for Whitehall to ride his sled around and pick up 100 sheds a week down where there is no snow.

Shed rule #4- Never look around where you saw bucks packing in January. They run 10 miles and then shed and come back. I have seen it time and time again.
