I just bought the trekker blind, and it will be here on the 4th. I was wondering what you guys use inside the blind for success, do you wear all black, use a swivel bucket, cover scents, foilage? Thanks for any input on this!

Also for clear cuts do you need to put them along the tree line or can they be placed in the open part of the field, so you can get a complete360 view? Really wish I had this blind today, missed a yote due to him sneaking up me

I'm wanting to get one so I can start bringing my daughter with me on some hunts, or even just "scouting" before the season. She's only 5 but I think the blind might allow enough movement that she could maybe handle sitting in there for a couple hours. It would be fun to just bring the camera and get some pictures of wildlife from it.
Will you be hunting with a rifle? If so I think you'd be alright in the middle of a clearcut as long as it wasn't skylined.
I'm not much help but hopefully others with experience will chime in.

Yes I will be hunting with a rifle. Makes sense about the skyline
I have a couple of hunters I go with that would be perfect in a blind. They move too much on stands
Thanks for the input!

i've been using a blind for years.................as an outhouse
I bought it years ago with the inention of using it for hunting, but ended up using it only twice for hunting, so instead of letting it sit, I have been using it as an outhouse. Easy to set up and don't take up much room

We use that exact model for our outhouse at elk camp.... works great! Fill it with the home-made crapper, wet wipes, TP and air freshner.
Actually have a Primos Double Bull Darkhorse and two Ameristep Brickhouse blinds set up right now for the turkey opener... We also use these for the deer season. No cover scents, folding chairs and tri-pod stools inside. We brush them in as much as possible. We don't hunt out of them exclusively by any means, they are just options for hunters in camp.

Seth,
I use mine with a folding chair, and yes wear black or dark clothes... I place mine with the back against briush or trees, so I have a 270 degree view, and that works well for me.

The advantages I see are.... I stay dry if it is raining.... The blind hides movement, expecially when we have youngsters who haven't mastered the ability to hold still... A couple spots we have used them are relatively out in the open, adding some brush, even just a little, helps to hide the hunter better than just sitting against a tree.
We've been using the blinds for deer hunitng for three years now. Seem to work fine after being up a couple 2-3 days. The first couple days the deer were leary of it.
We first used the blinds turkey hunting two years ago. My son was able to set it up out in the open field and take a turkey with his bow. Probably couldn't have done that without the blind.
I guess I've got to edit my first post here... yes, for deer hunting (whitetail) we do use scent eliminator sprays, but not cover scent. We use the sprays whether we are in a blind or not.

If you are deer hunting I would make sure it is well covered in brush, within the trees. We too have backed them up against a tree for a 270 degree view, works very well.
I would put them out in the open field only for turkeys.

My primary hunting is yotes in the off season, do you think the 270 view works on them as good as a deer?

I have some of that cedar spray that works great on cloth strips, I could hang those around the blind as well.
