Got a new lens
« on: April 26, 2011, 08:54:00 PM »
Well its nothing special if your a professional but I'm really tired of living in AK with only a 18-55 stock lens on my XSi Canon EOS. When I left my last teaching job I left all my photagraphy gear. I ordered a Canon EF 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 USM Lens tonight with a hood. I compared it to the canon 75-300 lenses and none of them in the same general price range have USM. I figured it will work well if I get a tripod and use it mostly in the bright Alaska summers. Should be in the mail by the end of the week. I will get some new moose pics for you guys and post them soon! One of these days I will get the 70-200 2.8L maybe even in IS!
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Wow - what a difference it will make being able to shoot at 300mm compared to 55mm!  Congrats!  Hope you have fun stalking the Alaska critters with it!

I think you should get a better battery pack as well, so we can see more pictures of your trap-line ;)

Nice lens! 8)
For clearer pictures try shooting off a tripod at 300mm.
