Bow Problems!!!FML
« on: April 29, 2011, 10:35:46 PM »
I have been experiencing some noise that seems to occur from the bottom cam. The ticking noise happens when I first try to draw back. It's only within the first 2inches of the draw cycle that the noise seem to be ticking. I don't hear this ticking noise often but rarely(during the draw cycle). But, everytime when I Increase and decrease the poundage; at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock i hear the ticking sound. And this happens everytime. The bow itself has not been dry-fired or mis-handled to my knowledge of any sort. If possible and easy to fix, i would like some feedback. Thanks, and very much appriciated.

Its your limb pocket. It needs to be greased. Take it to a proshop and have them do it. I've had it happen, no biggy.

Sounds like (no pun intended) Button Nubbs is correct, you might just need some grease. I had a similiar problem with my Mathews Monster and it ended up being the bearings inside the cam were sticking and not moving while I was drawing, then all the sudden they would move and smacking together. Got them replaced and it's good to go.

Great info.  I haven't had it happen but both those things are great to watch out for...now I'll know.

I didn't pose the question but thanks for the answers.

I had this problem with my PSE. It was the screws on the cam. They had worked loose causeing the "click" dureing the draw cycle. Before disassembleing your bow if you have adjustable cams check your screws.
