Flying Fortress (B 17)
« on: May 02, 2011, 05:28:22 PM »
The wife and I were out birding this weekend 22 miles from the nearest large airport and I hear that unmistakeable sound of four props coming at us. Very cool to see.

Near Black Diamond. It came from the Renton-valley direction, probably around for an air show.

AWESOME!

Cool picture.  That's a sight that made a lot of hearts pound, for good... and bad many years ago.

Looks like the guns are present.  I wonder if they are replicas or the real deal.

One of those comes to Spokane every year and flies around for a week or so. Very impressive but imagine 2000 of them going over head. I had a customer who was a child in germany during the war and she said the sky was black with them almost daily flying over her villiage on the way to the targets.
