My dad has had these FLOOD his feeder in N. Idaho lately. Evening Grosbeaks. I'm not sure I've seen one in person... that lime green bill is interesting!

I can't see the pic( at work), but run into them alot in the mountains. THey are so ugly they are almost cool/pretty. I'd like to see a red one. I guess we have them but never have seen them.

I have to fill my feeder but we have a red one coming around every now and then. I'll have the wife keep an eye out and snap some pics.

That would be cool. I thought I had one last winter but it ended up being a crossbill, upon closer exam. Thats also a cool bird.

I really dont know why I cant recall ever seeing them?? I have always paid attention to birds....
I dont know about ugly Doug...I see what you are saying I guess... but they are ugly like a moose it ugly....

They are inquisitive too. I've seen the black-headed and evening grosbeak's, but we also have the pine grosbeak, which I have yet to photograph. You need to be up pretty high to see them, at least higher than my house.
