I have also been shopping and researching wall tents and the Yakima looks like a nice one. I am looking for a 12 x 14 or a 14 x 16 with 5 foot walls. As far as the price of $450 for an 8 x 10? I suppose it depends on what it comes with. Is it a 10 oz. Sunforger treated? Is it Fire retardent treated? Does it come with a metal frame or the metal frame corners, screen door? sod cloth? stove jack? etc. If it's just the basic tent and frame it's probably in the ball park.

As far as the Yakima, I like what I see from their web site. I'm also looking at Rainier, Davis, and Bechtel wall tents. Post some pictures if you end up getting it and you get it set up! Are you getting a stove for it and if so what kind?

FWIW and strictly on a personal note, I feel that an 8x10 is pretty small. The little bit of experience I have had is with either an 12x14 or a 14x17 size. That is enough room for cots gear and stoves (cooking & heat) Also, I think 5 foot walls are a big plus. just my 2 cents though.

Also agree with MountainWalk338 on the Montana canvas tents, I've seen a lot of those being used successfully as well!

We got a Bravo tent 15x18 5ft wall been using it for 12 or 13 years now. We can put 5 cots and a stove around it and a 8ft table in the middle. We bought a snow slide to go on top, it help with the rain but a big snow you still have to knock the snow off or it will drive the posts into the ground. We like it it's done us good.
