Eyeguard combined ours.. :) He is at about 90 and I'm at roughly 80 now. And those are only the ones we've kept.

Found two moose paddles now at work but they were across a river... have to come back on days off to go get them!

Some of you guys are picking up more than your fair share!

I only found maybe a half dozen this year.  Haven't been out since early March.  I went from being self employed with not much work happening to getting one of those 4 letter words and haven't had time.   :bash:

I think I picked up 15-20 whitetails, 7 elk, and a muley.  Didn't spend near the time I did out there last year, was good when I went though.

Heres this years. The moose paddle hanging on the wall are not from this year. The ones on the grass are my best from this year. And the giant three point whitetail is this years favorite.

They are nice paddles... especially for this state. The water is still far too swift to go pick them up as of last week... I'm headed back to that area this week though so here's hoping.. but not too hard, seeing as all the other rivers are still rocking pretty hard.

32 rosie's 4 sets, 0 deer.  Can't find a blacktail shed if my life depended on it.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Alan K, finding 85 blacktail sheds impresses me more than any of this!  I have to ask, does your lab help out?  I just got a yellow lab and the only thing I let her chew on is antler and am constantly playing fetch with it.  She's about 4 months old and I hope she helps me next year with deer.  Elk is no problem since I live right next to the Loowit valley.

Its called working for the Forest Service and having manditory furlough during the winter months.  :chuckle:

Even then, I can't get too mad at folks in the natural resource field who shed hunt and job hunt in the winter months... landing a permanant position is very difficult these days! Its hard to make those general broadcast "guys who live off the government" comments when there are so many variables... construction workers don't really have much work in the winter either. I'd be careful if I were you with this kind of comment... there are a lot of displaced workers that time of the year that draw unemployment and shed hunt. It doesn't mean they aren't looking for work, too.  :twocents:

I don't think having or not having a job is a major factor.  Between my two buddys and I we picked up over a hundred Elk sheds this year in our area.  It's more of how bad you want them. We all have full time jobs and id drive 40 minutes one way as many times as I could between two girls playing ball, practices, and games to have a chance at picking one antler up.  I was going strong and still finding one Everytime out tell I got ill from a hital hernia. I had to stop at 32, but my buddy kept at it and found over 60 elk sheds.  Also took my 7 year old daughter and she found her first, I was the proudest daddy in the would that day, she was pretty proud too.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.
