Best bullet for yotes

This is mainly directed to the reloaders that also yote hunt.  Looking for opinions advise as to what you use and how much damage you get from the bullets you reload for yotes.
Specifically in a 22-250.
I currently us Sierra 55 gr spitzers and am thinking of going to the Spitzer boat tails because of the flatter trajectory any and all recommendations advice appreciated.

I use 50g nosler b-tips in my 22-250. It is a great flat shooting bullet and has great nock down power. Not the best if you are wanting to save pelts. But if you are just wanting a flat out dead dog give them a try.

If you reload, and want to do a lot of shooting, the "Varmint Nightmare" line of bullets sold by MidSouth Shooter's Supply are a great deal, both in price and accuracy.  I've loaded and target shot the .17, .20, and .22 bullets and they are just as accurate as Hornady V-Max bullets, which to me is high praise.  I haven't had occasion to shoot a coyote with them yet, but in my .17 Fireball on Ground Squirrels, they are devastating!  (Even cheaper than Midway's "Dogtowns", too.)

I would say either the nosler or a v-max they both killem dead just try not to hit major bones
cause that does nothing but bad things to the pelts

  To All!! I just moved here from Phoenix and I'm looking foreward to sharing stories (and lies..) with all of you. Just kidding about the lies. Here's my .02 cents on the bullets. I shoot plain old soft point bullets either Federal or Remington out of my 22-250 at those coyotes anywhere from 30 yards out to 300 yards with minimal pelt damage. They work well and are inexpensive. I like to keep it simple. Hope this info helps you out.

I always use 55 grain V-max and full case of Varget or the 55 Nosler b-tips and a max charge of H380.   I also use the Sierra Blitzkings in my .204 and they are superb!

My shots are usually 100 yards or less, in my 22-250 with 55 grain Vmax I got 4 inch hole both sides, intestines and other guts laying out behind them just tore them to heck.

I use FMJ only in my 22-250 and 223. Why spend money on bullets on a stinkin' coyote.

Thanks for the info  Think I'm going to either stick with e SBT or go to the vmax as I do have a buyer for the pelts and try to keep the damage to a minimum.  $25 - $35 per pelt in the round can pay for a lot of shooting

Geeze, I shoot them through my 2 700 BDL's and my Rock River AR and don't have any problems whatsoever. The FMJ's I shoot are from HSM out of Montana and PMC's. They kill everything I shoot.

For my AR in .223 I like 24 grains of Hogden Benchmark with Federal gold Match Primers and 55 grain Nosler Balistic Tip. I have had about the same luck with the Hornady V max's but I just really like the Noslers.  I have yet to loose a dog shooting these. Things do tend to get a little messy if you hit bone. Not a big deal to me as pelts are not worth anything around where I live. In the end, really, any bullet you can put through a coyote is a good one.

What one guy finds, another finds the opposite.

If I was to make a prediction, it would have to be dependent upon the range/ranges that you are shooting.

Foe example, you claim to want the higher retained velocity that can be had with the use of boat tails, but if you are shooting inside 400 yards, you won't notice any measurable difference. In fact, the additional step required to make a boat tail may in deed hinder your accuracy. Funny how folks forget about that. Another fact, some boat tails are not actual boat-tails in true accuracy potential.
Nosler Ballistic Tips for example. Ballistic-ally speaking, they act and in fact are exactly a flat-based bullet. Any boat-tail advertisement is pure hype. Look at the bc of the projectile...facts don't lie.

In addition, bullets, combined with the high velocity that most shoot for with the use of the 22-250, also combined with shorter ranges will indeed either destroy pelts, or destroy certain bullets.

Your choice will also be easier to determine if you post your twist rate, barrel length, etc.

There is no true Holy Grail that we all will agree on, thats for sure.
