yes... I have one that I love.....2 shot, I did put a different wrist strap on it. I think that the ones they have are junk.

I have a carter "like mike". Its a great release, has a very adjustable trigger, no creep, and very crisp. If it does not stay oiled or gets some dirt in it it will seize up. Best release for trigger back tension shooting imo.

i fabbed up my own release with a number of random releases i had and its good, however i would love to try out one of the carter releases, but my wife likes to use the line "yours has worked just fine killing deer and shooting in the past, why do you need a new one?"

I use the Lucky for target, but not for hunting. I hunt with a Scott Little Bitty goose. The Lucky is a great release, but like Nubbs stated it's prone to issue when dirt gets in. I believe the Quickie has more basic internals and better for rolling around in the dirt.

I too shoot a Carter but mine is the "QUICKIE", by far the best release i have used in a while.

For almost 30 years I have suffered from extreme target panic. Every few years it gets so bad I have to really get back to basics and retrain my subconscious. About four years ago it got so bad I sot the advise of Randy Ulmer who was a complete God Send! One of the things he did was introduce me to Carter Releases. Great Northwest people with a terrific product. There are a lot of good releases out there right now. But, I have become a true believer in Carter (both target and hunting releases). Lately they have been my primary Christmas gifts to those friends without one. I can't imagine ever changing!

Camp David - All Carter wrist strap releases are available in three different strap styles. Your pro shop should be able to order them with which ever style you prefer. Might keep you from needing to spend extra money on an aftermarket strap.

Glad to hear it! I have both, but prefer the Quickie. If you are in SW Washington send me a PM. Maybe we could meet and you can shoot them both before deciding. Quite a difference between the two.

The RX uses a magnet for recovery and the Quickie uses an elastic cord. Neither work perfect all the time, but the cord seems more reliable. It will break after a while where the magnet of course will not. If the cord does break the release still functions fine. You just have to manually cock it.

The thing I like best about the Quickie is that the hook is much deeper and longer. Might not be as good for target shooting, but way better in my opinion when it comes to hunting. Punched myself in the face trying to get a shot off at a nice P&Y blacktail a few years ago when the RX first came out. Not sure for certain it was the short hook, but that was my best guess.

I've given my brother and a nephew the RX2 and both have nothing but good things to say about it. Asked my brother a year later if he would rather have one of my old Quickies. He said, "Heck NO!" So I suppose it's simply what you like best. As long as it's Carter of course

There is a Wholesale Sports on E. Indiana Ave. there is Spokane. They sell the Quickie with the Tarantula wrist strap. That is the one I prefer.
