les johnson is a yote killing machine. His signature call he does with just his mouth and hand. no diaphram   he does use a electronic call sometimes with his signature sound, know that he is a tv guy. I know i can't go out with no calls with just my hand and call in a yote. can you???

I've never seen him use anything except the ruffydog myself.

I like the show. Im by far no expert. But that show really got me into wanting to try hunting coyotes. I'd like to say I've learned something from watching it.

This is my first year hunting, and I can't wait to get out and kill something.

I bet I have 30 mouth calls and 2 ecalls. I never believe any of the crap I see on TV since it's all about revenue for the sponsors. I hunt coyotes in Levis and a Hickory shirt year around as I do everything else. That's why I don't have a TV show I bet. I shoot a lot of warning shots. I should start an ammo company. Ya think ?

now he is in with hornaday so he is lookin sweet ... but I do only shoot hornaday bullets ... those v-maxes will spank the yotes and they shoot so flat... with my .223  they are sweet ....

I only use cheap 55 fmj ammo. Mainly PMC. I won't waste my money on a predator.

i am a fan of Les for the simple fact of his accomplishments.  No one could do what he has done in the coyote hunting world and not have been a great coyote hunter, noone is that lucky.  I am not an avid watcher of his show but do watch cause coyote hunting in any fashion is better than 99% of the junk on TV now days.  I had the privilage of going to a seminar put on by Al Morris and after listening to him and having a one on one talk for about a hour after, i would put that guy up against most.  He knows his stuff and is more down to earth that most guys with his resume'.

I read has resume' and it is very impressive. I just think his show is boring. Not enough action. It's to predictable on what he is going to do. He should add something too it. I'm sure he's a great guy too.

I used to watch the show and I think it helped me learn a few things, if only watching the dogs' movements and body language. I used to watch it all the time and DVR each one but it DID become same ol same ol, seen one you seen them all kind of thing. I think I saw him shotgun a bobcat once but other than that it was all coyotes, waa waa waa, bang bang bang. I do like his calling sound but I think the Ruffidawg sucks, I bought one but I hardly ever use it. I like the Lil Dog alot better - Ruffidawg is hard to use with the curved bill and the reed fouls really easy from spit/moisture. I never watch PQ anymore but I still think it helped me learn a few things. I was on the website a year or so ago and there was something that said like 'if you have any questions or need some info dont hesistate to email me' - at the time I was thinking about getting the Howa Axiom (and did) so I sent a quick email with a couple questions about it and the bipod and never got a response - surprise - but he probably gets alot of other dumb questions too.

For me, its what YOU see.

When we watch a show like that, I think some of us see different things. Experienced hunters/callers know what to look for, or at least what they are looking for, and some of that "good" stuff ends up on the editors floor I imagine.

I can't seem to time it right to see any predator hunting shows on tv, so I'd be happy with just about anything.
If they are competent, and succeed in taking animal after animal, not just 200 stands compressed into the 15 where they did actually take animals, that may say something.

I enjoy the Randy Anderson Videos primarily because he is a teacher at heart, and shows stands where he does not succeed.

There is not Gold Standard, and what works today, may not work tomorrow.

We've had good luck mixing it up where we hunt, and it keeps the dogs coming in.

No doubt... he knows the language for sure and knows when to make what sounds ...just like turkey or elk ... anyone can blow a bugle and get a response from a bull or yelp at a turkey and make him gobble but it takes a little more to bring them to you

I've enjoyed reading all the comments about Les Johnson.  I decided whether one likes him or not ( is he arrogant, don't know, never met the man) whether one likes his show or not doesn't really matter.  He was able to do what he loves and make alot of money doing it.  Wow, make and sell calls, and travel around the Country killing Coyotes. Not a bad gig if you ask me.  As for me personally, I would rather go out with my OLD hunting buddy FAlfire, and kill our own (or at least attempt to) rather than watch TV shows.  It's much more entertaining.
