Heading out for salmon on the Hula Girl on the 17th.  Anybody else here going to be on that trip?

What are you fishing for?

I’ve done tuna & salmon on the Hula Girl.  Captain (I forget his name) works hard to find fish.  It should be a good trip.

Just checked out Westport charters, and I gotta tell you guys who plan to go with them, having just been on a couple charters in AK in the past couple weeks, Westport is VERY, VERY reasonably priced.  Sounds like a great time and a good deal, have a blast!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

My pops and I have gone out a couple times with this outfit (can't remember which boat though). Cannot recommend them enough. Friendly and knowledgeable crew, big comfortable boats and we've hit the limit both times.

One day I'll do their 2 day Tuna run.

I've been out with these guys before, and like everybody said - they do work to get you your fish.  Just wondering if there were any other HW forumites that were going to be on the boat.  It's my second favorite boat to go out on - the Tally Ho was my favorite when Capt. Kevin Marks was running that boat.  I'll post pics if we catch anything noteworthy.

I think this trip is $135/person - which is an absolute deal if you figure all we have to do is show up on the docks with a lunch and go home with fillets.  I was thinking about taking a couple of my rods, but I'd have to re-spool it with mono as they do not like the braided lines on the charter boats... anybody know why that is?

Tangles with braided and mono or braided with braided are almost impossible to get out. They have to slash and burn. All mono keeps everyone fishing longer.
