Has anyone tried the FOB fletching? I have read some of the reviews and they are interesting.

I have shot them. They are o.k I am not a huge fan. I see them get affected by the wind more and they deflect way worse then standard vanes. I have shot them in the rain and seen some crazy things. if I was shooting a indoor league I would shoot them more.

They've lasted on the market longer than I ever thought they would.  I gave them a good testing, but only because I make it part of my job.  Test over, got exactly what I expected, will never put one on an arrow of mine again.  I prefer things designed and built on true fact and scientific study not conjecture and supposition.  They'll work if you have no other option, but Blazer, Max Hunter, F-F Flash...all a much better choice in my opinion.  Though I would use them in a heart beat before using the Aerovane II.

Just a little to goofy for me.  I'm sure they are pretty heavy too.

I've used them, but they're a solution looking for a problem.  They're no better than traditional fletching.  The upside is if you build your own arrows, there's no glue time.

I would have to agree. They also tend to get damaged more than my blazers.

I've been shooting them for two years now - great with field points - some issues with broadheads -  not sure if that is the FOBs or just typical broadhead issue.  I routinely practice out to 100 yds with field points and FOBS.

One thing - don't shoot at the same spot with multiple arrows like you would with fletchings, that will tear up the FOBS

On the fence about just going back to 4 fletch to eliminate a variable on broadhead issues.
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

I did some testing with them a couple years ago shooting them over my chrono out to 30yds.  They slow an arrow down considerably compared to Blazers.

Here is a link to what I posted then...

last time I went shooting on the outdoor course I was walking back to the start which is down range and to the side of the flat range. I could hear something and realized it was someones arrows going down the range. When I went to investigate is was a guy shooting the FOB's. they were pretty noisy  :(

I also would not use them because I would continuously have to replace them due to breakage in practicing.

Blazers work just fine :)
