What's up with Thompson/Center and other single shots?

It seems like an unusually high number of hunters on TV that hunt with with modern firearms use a T/C or CVA single shot rifles. My experience has been that I don't know one person that hunts with a single shot rifle. Obviously, sponsorship is a factor. But how much?

A LOT!  Those companies are spending a fortune for the good names on TV.  In most states you can be a multi-season hunter without the draw.  My brother gets to shoot 13 deer a year in MD if he uses all three weapon groups.  He's asked me for one of these multiple barrel option guns for Christmas.  They lend themselves to that quite nicely.  Not sure he's that good of a brother though.

I think we get a bit more picky about our guns out west with our longer shots and reduced opportunities.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

had an Encore in 7mm mag, sold it right away after it would not go off on nice 4x4 mulie in winthrop

i have hunted with tc encores for 10 years, they are more accurate then i am. i have two frames, both set up for rifle. from my 22 to my 45/70 every thing has same trigger & stock. it has made me a better hunter, and a better shot. at this time i have 4 rifle barrels and 1 shotgun barrel. i have other rifles, Remington 700 & 760, both in 06, but i prefer my encores.

I have 2 T/C frames and 5 barrels. Very accurate guns. Trigger job on one frame.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

The T/Cs are kinda spendy to start. They are as much as a rifle plus the scope, rings and mounts. You can get Bergara Barrels which are made by Shillen in Spain for less than an OEM T/C barrel. That's what I've started doing. I've put Pentax scopes on mine with rings and bases for around
$450 + -. My stainless frame was $450 with a trigger job shipped to an FFL. Check out www.eabco.com

mine are all tc barrels i bought 3 of them new, and two used. i bought a 22-250 off http://www.encoreclassifieds.com/  , and traded a 45xd tactical for a complete rifle with a 45/70 barrel. (guarantee it was not shot too many times  :yike: ) i added a Nikon i had on the shelf.
