We just got back from Lk. Chelan and did pretty well. Saturday my buddy in the picture and i caught 14 he got a 12, 15, and a 17 #er! My biggest was 8. Today we only got two it was really slow. Didnt see much other action around. On the way over we did get to see about a 300 lb. blackie on stevens pass.

Wow some nice fish you got there!! Was that the blackie that has been hanging out near the Stevens Pass Nordic Center?

The blackie was on the north side way up on the hill.

Nice fish. Were you jigging or trolling? I might head up there this week, was there anybody catching kokanee? Do you eat those nasty things? I have tried to eat them and it is like eating a big hunk of fat.

fishhunt223 we were trolling in 30 to 150 feet. No kokees saw a ton on the surface though sunin themselves. We eat the smaller ones and you have to cut the belly out. Smoked they are pretty good. We just try to help the kings and other fish that get hammered by them. The rest are crab bait! Try using coyote spoons they work really well.

The small ones are alot better than the big ones for sure. I usually just use thm for crab and crawfish bait. My favorite way to catch them is use 5 oz jigs and pieces of kokanee out on top of mack island. I have never had much luck trolling even though I know many people do. I catch more Burbot on jigs also.

Talked to a guide from Chelan today at the show, he said the best time to fish for these big guys is the next couple of months. I'm going to hit it a couple times this year, anyone else feel like dragging their boat over?
