Thanks guys.  I was really hoping to get an eye on a monster so that I'd have more enthusiasm for the death march. LOL.   Really any deer in this environment would be a "trophy".

Hell any deer with a longbow is a trophy Bone.  Best of luck!

:yeah: Wow, you have your work cut out for you!  Nice pics!!!!  I am sweating just looking at these pics, lol

Awesome scouting pics. Man I need to go out with You a couple times and have You show me how to scout better.lol.
But love of the wilderness is more than a hunger for what is always beyond reach; it is also an expression of loyalty to the earth which bore us and sustains us, the only home we shall ever know, the only paradise we ever need - if only we had eyes to see.

A LOT  fewer deer in the high country this year.   More in the midrange.  I like  hunting the rocks.

I've heard from my sources in the Central Cascades that it's been unseasonably cool this summer. Maybe the migratories haven't gone as far up the mountain this year. That's making me foam at the mouth for this season. We're hunting around 3400-3800 feet up, so hopefully there will be a few more bucks around in the early hunt. I would normally complain about this summer's weather (it's been over 70 in Port Angeles for maybe an hour or so this year lol) but it has certainly made for some of the best salmon fishing in recent memory, and hopefully a killer hunting season this fall.
