mule and blacktail

Was wondering if there are ways to identify em besides the tail because ill be hunting lil naches/ravens roust area and that area boarders the west gmus and they got black tails. Basically i just dont want to get poped for makeing a mistake thinking the deer was a mule.

I could be wrong, but if you're legal for mule deer you should be legal for BT.  I guess I'm not sure if some seasons are different or not though.   :dunno:

if you want meat . 3pts is it look in the regs for the deer that is legal in your area.  :twocents:

If you're in the Little Naches unit, it's considered a mule deer even if it's not.

I know they consider anything over the east of the crest mulie but are the deer in bickleton mulies or blackies? My buddy shot a 26in wide heavy heavy mass 3x4 in late season last year that looks 100% mulies but he insists its a blacktail because its ears are tiny and it was a really small bodied deer. I have also seen some very small deer in area 145 and 178 and also cowiche that had ears that were really small.  :dunno:

Its considered a Muledeer.  Most of us refer to them as benchlegs.    It all has to do with a line drawn on a map, not what the deers genetics are.
