You need to wait and let them line themselves up on a log first, line up their heads with your 12 ga, one shot and you'll have your limit without ruining any meat   :chuckle:

I would jump them, jsut because I enjoy shooting them on the wing alot more than sitting in the water.  Man, I can never get enough outta jumping, some good memories.

I'd grab my son or daughter, put them on the opposite side and flush the ducks over them.

I would jump them, although i have taken a few when they were on the water, but most of those were when we were hunting over decoys and the ducks lit in the decoys, nothing wrong with shooting them on the water then as far as im concered, thats what i call finishing them!

I would cut the green head where he sat and try to pick out two more in the air. I guess I don't care if someone does not want to hunt with me cause I will water sloose a duck! :chuckle:

Its not like its just easy as can be to get them to come and land in the first place I think either way a dead duck is a dead duck regardless of what he was doing before he got killed.

I have always said "HUT" to get them up then starting shooting.. it takes the sport and fun out of it when they are on the water...  :twocents:

I've pounded birds on the water, but i think you get a much better kill when thier wings arn't protecking thier body... A lifting bird goes down better i think.  :twocents:   Ever noticed how tough a cripple on the water is?

Like I said earlier on this post, the 2 that I have shot on the water have died instantly. Lucky shots :dunno:

I can't believe this went this far as a topic.  Flush'em. Ground sluecing is for kids and slobs seeing to how many ducks they can kill. I don't have a problem with folks jump shooting, but I wouldn't shoot at all. throw out a few deeks and they should start filtering back.
