Antelope Rifles!

Just figured it would be interesting to see what everyone thought on the subject. What do you think the best rifle/scope/caliber/bullet combo for antelope would be. For me it would be the remington 700 CDL Stainless fluted in .257 Weatherby topped with a Leupold vx-3 4.5-14 with a mildot reticle pushing 100gr nosler ballistic tips at just shy of 3600fps. Oh ya!

I like how you think.
But for the recoil concious - .257 A.I. 110 gr. Noslers at 3100 fps.

Mine would be a Remington 700xcr in 270wsm with a Burris Euro-Diamond 2.5x10x44mm with the Ballistic Plex. Shooting a 140gr. Nosler Accubond handload.

Weatherby 257, Ultralight. 4-14 or 5-20x scope. Any bullet between 100 and 115 grains that your rifle has fallen in love with. A close second would be my Browning X Bolt in 270 WSM.

Maybe not the best, but Mr. Pronghorn didn't enjoy the 53gr TSX from the hand-me-down 220 Swift.(he is not really an antelope)

I'm taking my win model 70 in 270 WSM topped with a nikon monarch 4 x 16 with the bdc. 140gn accubond handloads. My Fiance will be using a Howa 308 with a leupold vx3 and 150gn accubond handloads. My father is shooting his trusted savage 300 win with a vx3 on top and nosler 150gn handloads. It will be our first trip and we cant wait. We have been practicing long range shooting all year so it should be fun!!!

I'll be using my Win .243 again. 100gr is plenty. I did put a new Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 on it
My son will be using Gpa's Remington pump .30-06 topped with the hand me down Weaver 3-9x40 and shooting 150gr

IMHO anything .30 or over is ridiculous. These are small and don't need power, Just reach. i killed one at 450 yards with a .270 and I think that was overkill.

I'm not talkin guns in the safe here. I'm talkin if you could go down to the shop and grab anything or build anything, cost is not an issue in this scenario.
