Chelan Recreation Area

I was reading the regs and it says under Modern Firearm, in the High Buck Hunts section, that it's open sept. 15-25, and then it says the locations are alpine lakes, glacier peak, pasayten, henry jackson wilderness areas, and wilderness areas on the olympic peninsula and Lake Chelan Recreation area.  So my question is what Lake Chelan Recreation area pertains too.. it's probably plain and simple I'm just a little confused here, thanks for any help!

It's at the north end of Lake Chelan. Access is not easy.

That's a good general idea map bobcat.  Just remember, the Sawtooth is NOT open.  It amazes me every year how many people on horseback appear to be hunting it.  Bear I guess.

its a tough hike, but worth it. plan on 6k feet of climbing and 10 or more miles of hiking......as a minimum.

Has anyone ever hunted the west side (Rec Area) of War Creek Pass during the High Buck? Does it get crowded?

THunt,  Boulder Creek north of Stehekin is in the Chelan Recreation Area.  Enjoy.

Yes.  Quite a few hunters the times I've been in there.  Been a few years though.
