I think I'll pay my bills first, then go hunting. Work before play.
I passed on a 3x3 muley with eye guatds first thing this morning at 40 yards. Couple hours later came over a little edge and there was a 4x4 bedded by some rocks in the shade, got to 30 yards and decided he wasn't what I wanted.Ended up shooting 4 grouse and saw 3 bull elk and was in bow range of a few cows. Didn't hear any bugles.
here is what I saw at first light. These two were 30 yards away and could care that we were there. The buck in velvet ended up with all the velvet gone after playing around with the smaller two point. Me and my son got out there early. My son had a blast with seeing all the deer. Saw a nice 3x4 but couldn't get a shot. MVI 0233
Well does Oregon Count we shot two mulies
well dad took one for the team, got set up at 0500 first doe came in at 515 at 0600 in walks the resident monster who is now a 8x8( I think that rack builder I dumped this spring must be working) who decides he will stop and sniff around for 5+ mins at 15 yards, the whole time in my head I am trying to figure out the cost of having his rack freeze dried so it isnt a waste of such a huge rack. Drew back the mathews put the 20 pin on him, then cried as I slowly rode the arrow forward remembering I told myself I would only take a doe this year to improve the kids odds of dropping one of the resident bucks. The next doe came out at 0700 and caught a arrow after making me sit at full draw for five minutes for a shot on her.I'll post a pick after I transfer it from the phone.

who's gonna post the first buck of the season?i know 90% of you archery guys are still awake, trying your hardest to catch a few house of sleep. good luck tomorrow
