I dont think it comes up as an option until you have passed the test and filed your card with Olympia.   :dunno:

I am pretty sure you cant purchase a trapping license from a dealer, you have to fill out the application and send it into the Olympia office then they will mail your license back to you.

I believe it changed this year. But like Kain said it won't come up as an option until you've passed the test.

I didn't take any classes and didn't even study before I took the test. Easy, common sense stuff.  :dunno:

Do not do this unless you want to pay WDFW an extra $105. New as of Sept 1 available at License Dealer. May take a few days to straighten out though and yes you have to have a Trapper Training certificate on record.

Trapper ed class on Oct. 1 will be at the North Olympia fire station. I will post the address and exact times after talking w/ Alan Worrell. I expect it to start around 9am and finish in the afternoon, probably around 4ish (hopefully including skinning demos). I will also try to have WDFW post our class on their website.

Big 5 thought they were a dealer. They have most everything but no license to trap. The guy called the hot line and got me a number to call. I'll give it a try next week. I'm thinking that having received my certification in the mail I most likely need to call them back and give them the number that they issued to me :dunno:

Made the call the problem was not knowing where to look. The dealer had to go to new and enter my number then it showed on my wild id.

Quick question, do you have to go through a licensed dealer or can you purchase it yourself online? I looked at the options on line and I cant find it.

Not sure about a first time license on line but I know once you pass the test you can get at the license dealer.

Guess I'm just gonna have to contact a dealer. I passed the test about ten years ago so this isnt a new one for me. I do see the option online for the Fur Dealers license and the Taxidermist license, I would assume that the trapping license should be in the same area. :dunno:
