Cowlitz Kings yesterday
« on: September 24, 2011, 12:00:15 PM »
Went to Cowlitz by Castle Rock ,we fished up and down river .....bouncing lead and running divers . It was 6 of us hooked 5 kings of which 2 were wild about 20+lbs ;one jack and 2 hatchery fish about 12lbs. Saw whole bunch of bankies plunking ,one pulling out nice king about 10+lbs . Not too many boats ,but still too busy for me ...
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?

Sounds like a good time reguardless of the crowds. Glad you caught some fish Martin.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

I hate the crowds too! I just wish all the guide boats would sink and leave the cowlitz to us locals! It used to be a fun river to fish.

Looks like you had a good time..

Time to hit the river again.. maybe tomorrow morning.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

I can't even stand to fish the river I grew up fishing because of all the guides that hog the river there must be a hundred guides working on the cowlitz right now ond only 2 of them are worth dang! Robs guide service and a guide who's name is Nick Norbeck way to go guys I just wish the rest of the out of towners were as respectfull as those 2.  Then there's all the snaggers we have to compete with. And 99 percent of them are from either olympia or vancover! Its just sad that us locals who have been fishing the cowlitz for years can't even go out and enjoy the wonderful river that runs in our back yard!

I know a few guides just as cool as Nick. but not many. Allot of the locals are just as big of doosh bags as some of the guides. people are just out for them self and don't get it. mostly because they have had nobody to show them the right way of doing things.

I just miss the days when everyone on the river knew your name and was friendly and you could count on help if you needed it!
