Turkey Slayer 2011 Season
« on: September 24, 2011, 10:55:29 PM »
Well here is the story. As lot of you no that I do a lot of scouting and it pays off as you will here in the story.

It started out hunting a new peace of property that I got permission to hunt this year and I had 14 leagel buck that I have been seeing for the last mouths like clock work. We pulled up and as usual they were in the normal spot so we put a stalk on them buck just couldn't get a clean shot and past up on 3 little 3x3's and a 2x3 on the property. So my friend and I decided to go and check out a spot to the west of were I had been seeing a non typical 4 point. We got out there and found him bedded down in a small patch of grass sleeping. I did a 15 min stalk and got within 25 yard while he was sleeping and shot him in his bed. My buck was a double main beam 5x6. In my eyes a ones in a life time buck

The second buck was my friend that had been hunting with me through the day. The deal is that he is handy cap and can't walk because of blood clouts in his leg and this would be the last year for him to hunt so I desided to take him out in my area. I new of some buck that had been in a CRP field all summer and we seen them earlier that morning while taking my buck to a buddy shop to hang in the cooler. We pulled into the field and found them bedded down and put a short stalk on them and he got a shot at 137 yard and he dropped in his tracks. His buck was a 4x4 with eye guard and still had velvet. I am glade that I could be on his last hunt.

The 3rd buck that we got was my dad. He hunted really hard and seen a lot of smaller buck but just couldn't get a shot and it got dark opening day. So I took him to a little honey hole of mine and found 3 buck and 18 does feeding out of the winter wheat and over in to the breaks. So we got in front of them and got a shot at 173 yards and the buck went 100 yard and layed down. He mad a perfect shot. This buck was 2x3..

Other wise we had a really good weekend.

Ya I am going to euro it first then mount it. It's a ones in a life time buck for around here. Ya he is a nice 4 with an eye guard and both main beams have eye guards  and the both fork. We had been watching him for a mouth and a half. Well headed over for elk rite now on the wet side. Good luck every one
