I almost always take a few pics...

Elk Tenderloin with garlic, onions, peppers, salt and pepper in Butter....

FRESH (as in 2hrs dead)... Moose tenderloin. Fricken tenderloin was the size of a deer backstrap! Simply in Butter, fresh sliced garlic and salt and pepper!!

Dangit Man! I am leaving for a cow moose hunt on the 14th! Those tenderloins are huge!!! I have never eaten moose before but they tell me it is awesome. Anyone confirm that? Compared to Elk?

Thanks,

Brian

Was at Bellevue for the last four days and we ate at John Howie Steak house.  First off, it was a great steak.  Second they had chanterelles so I had them cook some up in butter then put it on my steak.  Third, they had lobster mashed potatoes.  Now if I had ths at camp I am not sure I would be hunting much.

How do you guys find time to eat like that? My camp meal pictures would be boring.  Headlamp lit mountain house dinner about 2 hours after dark every day. Maybe throw in cup of noodles to break the cycle.  :chuckle:

Same here... My only good food to match the posts were Howie's.   My rule is you can cook anything as long as it uses one pot.  Pretty boring and usually it is soup or something like that.

For the folks posting a bunch of photos, any chance you could give an insight into what those meals are? Would love some ideas...

one of my favorite things to do is to cook.  especially out of cast iron and over a camp fire.
i prepare anything and everything.
last year at camp i think i did...
Clam chowder,
beef stew,
salmon,
chicken and beef burgers
spaghetti
lots of salads
steak baked potatoes
chicken noodle soup
biscuits
chili

i am going to start preparing our menu for this year in the next few days.
Cant wait!!!
