I think I took that one 6 years ago. It was last weekend of the regular modern firearms season.
I typically stay consistent on where I go once I have found some good sign during my scouting. When I know bucks are frequenting an area, just play the averages on us being there at the same time.
Anyway, I was slowly working my way up this little knob to look down into the little bowl I had seen the sign in. Just as I crested, this guy and 6 does jumped up outta their beds at about 40 yds. I had a quick shot on him just as he started to bolt. He had hunched down a bit, so I took out his elbow at the entry with my Browning 30-06.
The shirt is actually hunter orange, but like usual here, it had been raining pretty good and I was completely soaked.
