It's steeper than it looks.

I sure hope this is the year I beat this one   :dunno: :yeah:
Well I gave it my best shot this year ...I have turned over every rock I could think of and I finally get it done on the last day ....Thats why I love hunting ...never know when or where it will happen but when it does theirs nothen like it ......I have not killed a deer with a rifle in 15yrs Because I am a BOWHUNTER  :chuckle: :dunno: But I have been missing the rut in my area the last few years do to I believe climate change...So maybe they best adjust the season to allow for it  :dunno: But anyway this buck is not the one I was after but he will work...I know he was fighting with the one I was after because he has scares on his face and neck from not to many days ago ....I made a comment the other day about how persistances has bitten me in the butt and then Bang it happens .....CRAZY !!!! Never give up .....plain and simple !!! AWESOME DEER GUYS .....I love those Blacktail !!! Man they are so easy to kill  :chuckle:

Nice deer BH45! That is a great pic there next to the big rub.

"But I have been missing the rut in my area the last few years do to I believe climate change...So maybe they best adjust the season to allow for it"

Couldnt agree more in my area but next year i am just going to purchase a rifle tag and hunt with my bow which I really should have done this year.

Last year in parts of Wakiakum and Pacific Counties the BT's never rutted until late archery season which was the first time I have ever seen them rut that late. I couple rifle hunters (archery elk) I spoke with said the rut typically starts the last week of October and goes really hard through the second week of November tapering off into the third week which coincides with the evidence from my area (King County). I think they're still pretty slow over here though but than again I've been waiting for the rifle season to end to scout again and havent been out. Anyhow, next year its rifle season with my bow for me, I feel it still gives you plenty of time to hunt just have to make sure to work to get away from everyone.

Thank you, it's a 12. I've had good luck with the 2 3/4" Hornady SST in it. My uncle has the 20 and he likes his also. FYI,the 12 kicks like a big magnum, ouch!
