Bean counter http://apps.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=232-12&full=true.  Very bottom of the page. washington state law RCW 232-12-840. Also with liver cancer along with many other cancers there are stages. My father was a stage two. He possibly now is a three. Stage four is bed ridden and near the end. He is unable to have a transplant and unable to have treatment like chemo due to the fact that he has cirrohsis as well. This makes it terminal. I dont know how he came across this tag  I didnt ask him, I assumed it was in the regulations packet but it wasnt or at least i havnt been able to locate it. I understand the doubt. Neither of us have heard of this tag either.

Hunting and fishing opportunities for terminally ill persons.   Pursuant to RCW 77.32.565 the director is authorized to provide special hunting opportunities for terminally ill persons. The director may establish criteria for application and award of these special opportunities.

     (1) The director is authorized to receive special permits from donors and redistribute them to terminally ill persons.

     (2) The director may issue special permits allowing the harvest or catch of fish and game as exceptions or additions to other rules established by the commission.

     (3) The director may make agreements with landowners to provide access for special hunting and fishing opportunities.

     (4) The director may also make agreements with others to assist the terminally ill in facilitating the harvest or catch of fish and game.

The director shall report annually to the fish and wildlife commission the number and types of opportunities provided to terminally ill persons.

   Thanks for the info.

Me neither. Also the dudes first post. Think well hear back from him? Smells of :bs: to me.  I lost a relative to liver.cancer this year and by the time it was terminal she would have been in no ability to hunt. I would guess this is a I didnt scout enough type of post.

Great post.

Wow, WDFW may have a soul?

I hope this isn't some scam, but I am a sucker. I truly hope that this is true (telling the truth) and as such will extend my help to the family if I can.

It's a legit program. Several tags get issued every year for terminally ill individuals.

Don't feel like you have to just because a couple richard craniums question you in this matter.  Screw 'em!!
Bust of luck to you and your Dad on a successful hunt and more importantly the quality memories you will carry with you of this opportunity for the two of you.
