those fish are precious! not too many of them left around anymore. fish can swim off and die just like animals can run off and die. the guy had his the guy had his hand in the gill and there was no water dripping from the fish which would lead me to believe that fish was at the photoshoot for a while. thats whats RIDICULOUS.

I'd like to see some facts supporting that 270. But then again your right we might as well treat them all like hatchery fish...

I did not get to see the Steelie but we need to protect our wild Steelhead. You can still document the fish and capture a great memory without taking the fish out of the water. Here is a pic of a Alaskan leopard bow. You can let them breath and when the camera man is ready just lift enough to show the back and red stripe and "click" and then back in the water.
After a long fight a fish needs to catch his breath. It would be just like if you ran a couple of laps around a track and then someone held you under the water and took pictures of you. Congrats on a nice fish!!

Here is my buddy with a good fish from 11-11-11.  Skykomish River near Index caught on a yellow corkie.  Had to hit 'em in the face to get him to take it and we let him go.  Photos and memories

Nice just saved this info with the pic that you had for evidence and turned it over to the wildlife officer with your screen name. I got all of your info from the site. Thanks for the Free points. Next time you might regret poaching... Expect a ticket in the mail sooner or later.

Sorry Yelm Hunter, points are only for big game violations. Can't get any for fishing violations. If you are serious about your post you really need to get some help.

Don't worry I don't need to get any help.... I'm sick and tired of POACHERS AND SNAGGERS!! How about them Indians that through them big Triple Hooks over and snag your fish from you that you have been fighting for 15 mins thats 40lbs?? If you were in my shoes and fish as much as I do and own your own boats and guide service you would understand. Oh and don't worry I have plenty of clients that will say the say thing...

Yelm Hunter, I don't like snaggers and poachers any moe than you do, unfortunatly we don't know if this guy was knowingly breaking the law or just stupid.
