Capper, powder flask, powder measurer, cleaning jags, powder, bullets, bullet puller, bore lights are nice, speed loaders, various other ramrod tips, and a range ramrod is handy.

Good info above!

Your list will depend on your gun of choice (esp. inline vs. traditional), anticipated use, and how much gear you want to acquire.  Depending on the gun, some tools will come with it, such as a cleaning jag and disassembly tools.  Here's what I've found helpful for shooting/hunting with my Knight:

Earplugs and SAFETY GLASSES.  Glasses are a MUST with muzzloaders--lots of flying debris on every shot.
Sling.  I like the Quake Claw.
Range rod.  Best $30 I've ever spent.
Cleaning patches.  Lots.
Cheap powder measure/reload/bullet starter thingies (I use these for all three purposes).
Powder funnel that snaps onto 1-lb cans.
Triple-7 FFG or FFFG powder for hunting.  Choose one and stick with it.
Premium bullets for hunting--I like Barnes, but there are lots of good options out there.
Triple-7 50gr pellets for target practice (don't use them for hunting in Washington--ignition can be touchy with caps after hunting long days).  50gr loads are comfortable to shoot, and the pellets make loading fast and consistent.
Cheap bullets/round ball (look for them on sale) for target practice.
Caps.  Magnum #11 or musket.  No need for both, but definitely upgrade from #10.
A rugged container into which you pour boiling water and pull the water into the barrel for cleaning.  The wife/girlfriend/mother/what-have-you will not take kindly to your use of a kitchen bowl for this task.  You MUST clean your gun after every shooting session if you wish it to last, so get a dedicated bowl/tub.
Breach plug lube/grease or teflon tape.
Degreasing solvent for cleaning BP grease.
Several cans of gun scrubber to clean the trigger group.
Oil.  I use B-C Barricade.

You'll no doubt accumulate more junk than you can imagine.  This is just a must-have list.

Go with a tradition muzzleloader and dont use pellets. All you need is hot water and Dawn dish soap to clean and old t-shirts for cleaning patches, some Bore Butter to season the barrel and Break-Free to use on the nipple as a anti-seize. IMO no need for a tool box full of stuff to break down a rifle. All I need is a wedge pulling multi-tool and my rifle is broke down and ready for cleaning and I can do it in the field if need be with one simple tool. :twocents:

My favorite accessory would be a Lee REAL bullet mold.  We got so much scrap lead from a fisherman friend it will last us forever.  All the shooting you ever want to do & the bullets are free.  They are accurate too, with small groups out past 100 yards.  Can't wait to let the air out of a hawg with one.
