Sig P238 vs Bersa Thunder 380
« on: December 10, 2011, 08:16:48 AM »
Looking at buying one of these pistols, just trying to make up my mind! I am leaning toward the Sig, but the Bersa comes with 2 clips and is a good fit in my hand. The Sig also has a good feel, but only with the the clip that has the extension for my pinky finger. Also, the Bersa is much cheaper priced. The sig is a bit smaller, and may be easyer to conceal. There is something about the Sig that I just really like. Need help. Thanks!

They are both good guns, the Sig is a great little concealed gun but that Bersa is a good shooter. If you are looking for a concealable and are considering something as large as the Bersa you should take a look at the Sig P239's, very easy to conceal, extremely accurate and they truly feel like a full-size gun to shoot.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I found a stainless steel P238 with rosewood grips for $650 at Angency firearms in Moses Lake.  Also found a blue/rubber grips P238 at High Mountain in Moses Lake  for $679. I am sad to see prices of the Beras and the Sig at High Mountain so far off from what other stores at charging. High Mountain has a blue Bersa for $329, found a stainless Bersa at Agency for $249. I really wanted High Mountain to succeed in Moses Lake, but they are already getting a bad review from quite a few folks saying the prices at High Mountain are VERY high. Hope they can still make the store go.

Kind of comparing snap-on to harbor freight. Sig makes a solid gun.

LOL! I was thinking more like Snap-on to Cornwell, the Bersa is actually worth owning!

Looked at the Sig Sauer 238 Extreme yesterday and fell in love.  I would love to shoot one before shelling out that kind of money on a .380 though.  If anyone in the Wenatchee area has one that want's to go shooting one of these days let me know....I will bring something for you to shoot as well.

I would without a dought pick the sig. That being said I got a little mico desert eagle from a member on here and it is a sweet little gun. Small for me but a great gun none the less.

jrebel, I've got the Sig but it is not the extreme model. They are great little guns, basically a minature 1911 style pistol. I'll have to look into the extension for the magazine. Send me a pm if you want to go shoot.

I like that the extream comes with a 7round mag, long enough to get your pinky on the grip. If I get one, one of these mags will be a must! I really want the sig!
