Sewing machine motors do the trick - that is a nice set up, huntergreg. Your saw may not be "pretty," but it isn't "ugly" either - and the price was right.
I put together a DIY saw that has been working like a charm - cost me about $38 in materials (it helped to find some of the stuff on sale). I got the idea to use the "modified" clamp from another archery site. Here's my recipe using a rotary tool:

The gray "tube" shown in the one photo is a vacuum attachment to control carbon dust - keeps things clean and safe.
