Big stone point and knife stand finished up
« on: December 23, 2011, 06:11:02 PM »
Well I have posted pictures of the knife already but had not done the stand yet. It is pretty cool because I used the top of the horn as the stand! It also has a small hole in the horn from when the buck punched it in velvet.

The stone point turned out pretty solid and it would kill just fine. That being said: I am ticked I could not get a even notch going so they ended up way bigger then they should be. The next ones are only going to get a very small one on each side. I might do a few with no notch as well. I have to play with styles to figure out what ones I will be punching threw some vitals next year :IBCOOL:

That's awesome, Carp.  I must admit that when I first saw that stone it reminded me of something out of a medieval torture scene. :chuckle:

A friend of mine is making a knife for me, using an antler from an elk I killed for the handle.

You'll have a "one of a kind" - something to be proud of.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Oh yes I have shot plenty of stone tips out of my bows. I have never shot a big game animal with one yet. That being said they fly great. You just have to get them even and mounted right. Its not just like screwing one into a insert :chuckle:
