Grab a Uncle Mike's nylon holster. They are under $20 and will losst for years. I'll check & see if I havean extra one.

........exactly what I carry my 4" 629 in while backpackin'/hiking. Works great, easily drawn when desired, quiet, dries out fast when wet, doesn't mold or get damaged by the elements, the snap/strap feature greatly reduces the chances of unknowingly cocking your firearm while also keeping your revolver securely holstered and padded just enough to protect your firearm from unintentional misuse (falls and such).
I have used mine for years and am quite pleased with all of it's attributes. This is one product that is worth well more than I paid for it, especially since it seems to be essentially bulletproof/indestructible.
