In need of a gunsmith

So I was replying to " The oldest gun you have " post and was thinking about getting my .32 Win special in the shop to have a once over. I live in Tacoma but will travel. The last time I shot it was about 10 yrs ago with no problems but given its age and piece of mind I'd like to geit checked out. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the recomandations, talked to a friend earlier today and he said Frontier guns in Eatonville. any info on that?

I'm going to be in that areas sometime before next tuesday so if you pm me hopefully I'll be able to find out for you. I drive by there every time I go out hunting. Wondering the same thing myself. I too am looking for a smith and I'd rather have face to face conversations. If I can't read a guys face I don't really want to hand him a gun.

If the gun functioned properly last time shot, unless it fell out of an airplane and was ran over by a truck...clean it up and shoot it. Guns don't break from sitting there. A simple peek down the bore to verify no obstructions or nasty rust and the same in the chamber, check the half cock and let it run. 32 does not make a lot of pressure and every load you can buy for it is safe in that gun.

No nothing like that happened, theres a couple of holes (1/16') in the side plate with nothing in them and was wondering if that is normal. nothing rattling around inside

Are the holes near the top? If so it was likely a peep sight mount.

I used the gunsmith at Sportco awhile back. Don't know if he is still there or not. Was very pleased with his work.

Wake1, what kind of gunsmith was he? I've talked to a bunch of places and when I asked if they knew a good smith said that they were. When I asked for a price estimate to do some things to my bolt gun and lever gun they sheepishly reply that by gunsmith they meant armorer.
